Open Gardens Day

Elkstone Open Gardens Day for 2026 is planned for Sunday 28th June 2026

Elkstone is one of the highest villages in the Cotswolds halfway between Cirencester and Cheltenham off the A417. The best way to appreciate the village is to visit the Open Gardens Day which for 2026 is on Sunday June 28th from 2.00pm to 6.00pm.

Organised by villagers to raise funds for the upkeep of the church and village hall it offers a unique opportunity to visit this village and see areas not normally accessible.

The church is known for its unusual dovecote above the chancel and its quite exceptional Norman carving, especially the two chancel arches and the sanctuary which is bathed in golden light. The church bells, which were restored and retuned during lockdown, will ring out to celebrate this special day. With many features including a Coronation wildflower meadow and an eco-loo, the church holds a bronze eco award.

Many differing gardens will be open. Afternoon teas, refreshments and ice creams will be available, and there will be a plant stall to browse.
